The Pacebook Running Club (PbRC)

The Pacebook Running Club (PbRC) is a non-traditional racing group with over 500 members throughout the United States, Canada and even into Europe. At the PbRC, a core focus is to inspire, educate, motivate and support our members and their racing efforts. Our members range in experience from former collegiate athletes to those who have never raced before. Even with this large diversity of members, the PbRC fosters an open environment that is fun, safe and inclusive for racers of all experience levels.

This leads me to the PbRC’s other core focus, which is to have fun and celebrate each other’s racing accomplishments. To this end the PbRC also has a significant social aspect. Our online Facebook group’s message board has a continuous stream of posts on a variety of racing topics. We joke that missing a day on the PbRC message board is like missing a week at most other Running groups.

Because there is significant geographical diversity between most of our members, the PbRC loves to have member “Meet-Ups” at as many racing events as is possible. Our members will often go out of their way to do PbRC pre- or post-race pictures. Disney’s 2013 Marathon Weekend will be no exception. For this Disney event, the PbRC will have pre-race meet-ups at most Disney Resorts, pre-race pictures at the 5k, Half and Full Marathons, pacing groups for the Half and Full Marathons, and a special private Epcot Illuminations Dessert Party on Sunday evening to celebrate our achievements!

One of the PbRC founders, Tony Conticello, is a Team #Run3rd Captain at Disney’s 2012 Tower of Terror 10 Miler on September 29, 2012. If you are racing this event, please make sure to stop by our Pre-Race Meet Up, details here:  https://www.facebook.com/events/518900848124702/

While the PbRC may be slightly less traditional than your local running club, we also have racing partners and sponsors, such as Pro Compression, Body Glide, Expedition Runner, Mousekeplanners, SunRype and others. If the Pacebook Running Club sounds interesting to you we welcome you to join the PbRC Facebook “group” at https://www.facebook.com/groups/PacebookRunningClub/.  This is primarily where the group’s interaction takes place.

Please also like our PbRC Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pacebookrunningclub, which is where PbRC events and important information are announced.
